Hey Norne, thanks for the reputation comment! Maybe next time just post it on the thread instead of being snarky privately.

Lets turn it into that kind of thread. I took over my 4th gym today (and lost it straight after) and reckoned I've cycled/walked around 40km in the last week

You replied to me with a picture of a chocolate chip cookie, and I said "thanks, that looks tasty!" How exactly is that snarky? You Americans are weird: you find something nasty even in the most innocent words like "thank you". Maybe that is why you are obsessed with electronic entertainments - because you have forgotten how to talk to each other?

Is anyone else being personally attacked for being critical of this game? I've been dogging on it half in jest, yet the zombies are after me, accusing me of being "negative" and "antisocial." It gets people out of the house! Walking! Talking! It's harmless fun! Wholesome! Why am I so "hateful" toward such a wonderful development in human achievement? There are those who see this as harmless fun and those who see the harm in it, and there seems to be no middle ground. Except that the latter segment of society isn't so defensive...

Yes, that was a very popular meme that was going around right after the game started. Someone said it on their Twitter and it flew all over the internet in hours.

Have you not heard of Pokemon before? The original Pokemon did not fizzle out fast at all, I seriously doubt this one will, either. Kids will have to go back to school and do homework...but Pokemon games don't "fizzle out".

It's going to take someone killing another with their inattentiveness behind the wheel and receiving a prison sentence before anyone will say that you might have a point.

I do find it ironic that those who have their faces stuck to their phones and are completely unaware of their surroundings and anyone around them are calling you anti-social for not being a fan of the game.

Too bad they don’t have a captain at the department whose last name is “Obvious” who could have delivered that advice.

They call what they're doing "socializing" because others are out there doing it, too. That's one of the scary parts...

It IS socializing. I went out for the first time yesterday to try this thing and was having some difficulty learning how to throw balls. Someone else playing nearby noticed and immediately took me under their wing. I walked with them for a while until we seperated, and met up with others here and there.

This is really a fun game ! My dog thought I was weird though because whether we go for walks it's normally a straight course rather then zigzagging back and forth etc lol

I'd say its an improvement in the current teenage socialising. Instead of hanging out on one corner causing trouble, they're moving about and are too busy catching pokemon to cause trouble. Amusing to hear the excitement of one over seeing a Jigglypuff - I had the same excitement when I played with the cards. Love getting those bits of memories from my childhood - hatched a Diglett yesterday and remembered how adorably cute they are.
