We have no street view in Malta either, completely ridiculous when every other country has theirs updated regularly & they have never been here once! It's so small it would only take them a few days...

A google car went through a local town one day and I was surprised how quickly it zoomed down all the little side roads and dead ends. It was a small car with a mast coming off the roof and a ball on top. The ball was loaded with cameras.
Getting to the Faroe islands Google could take a boat and then set the camera pod onto a bicycle rig and off they go.

Interesting. I used Google maps to show someone the community where I live and my car was in front of the door to the villa. I realize that's not unusual, but it felt a little creepy. (of course my license plate was blurred)
