LOL, That is an easy thing for a child to say whether there is proof or not. If you have proof I would like to see it.
I do not think that Poland is in the US's back pocket. I think both of the countries work together on many levels for mutual benefit. This is the mature way to do things, rather than see something you do not like and stamp your foot and cry.
Digital piracy cannot be controlled just by knocking off a few popular joints.
Video Game piracy is at an all-time low because people have embraced digital game distribution and payment. Years ago you wait on line to pick up a new game, today you can pre-order a game on line and pre-load the game before it's release date.
Video streaming sites have not embraced the digital delivery enough to make legal digital content cheap enough and easy to obtain.
It's pretty ridiculous that years ago Game of Thrones was only available online to people who have a cable HBO subscription. Now they have a digital only plan, it made more sense but it is still expensive because you're paying so much for these individual content providers and not a single payment that gives you all popular content. Hulu & Netflix have limited content.
Lol, I don't get why they think this will stop it.
Another site like KAT will just pop up, and not to mention the numerous other torrent sites out there.
In 1931, when Willie Sutton was arrested, The Government officially announced that they had stopped "Bank Robbery" in the United States, and all banks were now "safe and secure".

Yep, now all the robber's (robber-BARONS that is) OWN the banks!
How does an organization make money from torrent file sharing? I'm thinking of old time Napster and the other one (forgot the name). They didn't charge fees to users and they didn't run ads on their sites. Was KAT the same? So how did they make money under those circumstances...sell users' information?

Not all of them are in it for the money. I knew a guy that hosted a server for such use. He didn't make money from it. He was an Internet pioneer from way back who felt strongly about the free sharing of information.
If the Poles did not give a damn why did they arrest him?
Thank you, come play again.
Poland has been America's B**tch for sometime now. We keep Putin/Russia from getting any big ideas, more so since the invasion of Ukraine.
