Yes...they need to add a crazy and fun factor to it like we witness in the Winter Olympics because watching people run, jump, and swim is boring. Jousting, street luge, Tug of War, Bocce, and or a swimming obstacle course (like in the 1900 Olympics) would be fun. They already said no to Tug of War for 2020, so I can only hope 2024 has Tug of War.
Yeah, the Olympics can be boring for someone who does not follow some of the sports contested throughout their normal season. It's interesting to follow the season and see how it all comes together at the world championships or finally, at the Olympics.
I love the pic from Brave! My wife and I were at the bar yesterday having afternoon margaritas and were unfortunate enough to watch most of the Republican National Convention. I can imagine this jousting scenario with Trump and Ted Cruz, with Trump ending up being at the sharp end of the Cruz jousting stick. I can't believe how disconcerted he was that Cruz refused to endorse him. How juvenile of Trump. So I now believe that jousting should be a sport. Wednesday, 7/20, I would have had a different opinion.
This is obviously a ploy to increase Britain's medal count. What other countries would/could field a jousting team?
As if we would do such a thing.
What about Olympic Quidditch followed by who can eat the most scones and drink the most tea.
