I suppose next time you jaywalk or come to a rolling stop or go a few miles over the speed limit, you should be executed, right? You know who does that? Groups like ISIS and the Nazis.
Committing a crime isn't cause for vigilante execution. Never, unless a life is directly threatened and there is literally no other option.
Agreed. The guy was shoplifting and these people ganged up on him, assaulted him, then murdered him. He stole and should have been prosecuted for stealing, a nonviolent crime, I'll remind you. He didn't deserve to die over DVDs. They should go to prison.

No one is being charged with murder. They should all get an award.
He didn't deserve to die, no one deserves to die for simple shoplifting.
These employees are rightfully being charged and if the facts show that they were indeed liable, should be found guilty.
However this also was an isolated incident. People get stopped and detained for shoplifting every day all across the country and don't end up dying as a result of that interaction.
Doesn't matter. If the employees are found guilty then they are found guilty.
My point is, don't friggin' walk into a store and feel entitled to steal and assume you are going to get away with it! If I catch an intruder in my house trying to rob me, I am going to do what I can to stop that person from taking what's mine, and I won't care if I have to hurt him. The dead man at Walmart set himself up.

Actually I'm an xray tech that has worked in orthopedics for the past 30 yrs and I know how common rib fractures are in people that are 50+. There is bone loss - hence why they do bone density tests at the age of 50 - and certain medications and alcohol can also cause brittle bones.
Not sure where you got your degree but it's not that hard to break a rib - you can do that coughing.
I do not know the logic to bring up manslaughter charges against Walmart associates who stopped and restrained the shoplifter. They did their job. The charges should be dropped easily.
They didn't do their jobs. Walmart policies specifically prohibit this sort of thing. And it was overkill. Literally.
