All of the nicest posters on here seem to come from Jersey. Must be a really pleasant place.

RIP Polo. You were a good boy!

Animals are amazing in what they know and sense and how well they take care of their people.

I'd be investigating that mother for attempted infanticide.
There are no outlets in the house?

"Poremski had lit a candle following a power outage, and had walked outside to her car so she could charge her cell phone, she said.
Within minutes, flames erupted. Fire officials are trying to determine what caused the blaze, which quickly engulfed the two-story home."

Thankfully the dog was more protective of the child than the mother.

Yeah, outlets don't work so well in a power outage.

Did you even read what you quoted?

"...following a power outage..."

So while there were probably outlets in the home, they were not working due to the power outage.

Thanks. So this didn't happen "following a power outage", but "during" a power outage?

During a power outage this woman lit a candle carelessly in her home and the place lit up like a candle, and she's a victim? Okay, sure, so where was the candle and how was it placed in the home? Why was she confident leaving the candle burning in the home when she left the building?

That's where I got mixed up. "Following" and event tells me that it's all over, so following a power outage, outlets work. During a power outage, outlets do not work ... stupid semantics killed the cat, I mean dog.
