Does it not say somewhere in the constitution that we have the right to expect some sort of privacy in our own homes and property ? then I say good for her and yep everyone has the right to not have their privacy invaded and she had every right to shoot that drone down . I also would have blown it out of the sky too how dare anyone invade someone's privacy like that .
No, not for the reason of drones. Specifically, against illegal search and seizure.
Cities could create a no-fly zone that extend from ground level property lines to 500 ft (for example). Drones have to be assumed to have cameras on them, it is a huge public hazard and it's just something statutes will have to address since the technology is here.
There's just nothing good that can be done flying a drone directly above another's property, so it needs to be stopped before more drones are killed - in the name of good.
Yeah. I think they need to address the laws. If a drone cruises over my place on its way somewhere, no problem. If it's hovering over my backyard while I'm sunbathing ....problem.
And if it crashes into our roof and we don't know who's responsible because we don't know whose it is...problem.
FAA regulations still require the operator to be within line-of-sight of the drone at all times. That is a consideration to many of the statements that have been made so far.

Drones are required to be registered with the FAA and have the FAA number located on the drone, so you would be able to identify the responsible party that way.
Not every Charlie and his brother can buy a helicopter and afford to kibitz around neighborhoods.
So if the rich can do it, it's not a concern. But if the middle class can do it, we need to ban it?
