Nothing is safe from vandals these days.

Video shows vandals destroying iconic Oregon rock formation | New York Post

Quote:
Horrifying footage caught on a passing drone shows hooligans toppling an iconic sandstone sculpture known a “duckbill” on the Oregon coast.

The disturbing video shows the gaggle of punks pushing on the natural wonder until it falls and crumbles on the ground.

The vandalism occurred around 5 p.m. on Aug. 29, authorities said.

The drone’s owner, David Kalas, told local TV station KATU News he and a friend were filming sections of the coast when they saw a group of about 8 people trying to unseat the popular structure, which sits in a roped-off area of Cape Kiwanda

“I kind of laughed to myself cause I thought there was no way that they could knock it down but then I noticed that it started wobbling and then I started to record it as two of the guys manged to knock it down,” Kalas said.

“I asked them, you know, why they knocked the rock down, and the reply I got was: their buddy broke their leg earlier because of that rock,” Kalas added. “They basically told me themselves that it was a safety hazard, and that they did the world or Oregon a favor.”

****ing mouth breathing idiots...having a vendetta against a rock because their friend is a moron.

That is actually in a restricted area (as the article states...people still go there...including myself when I was there because you can get some really good photos).

I'm sure they will eventually be identified and brought in for questioning, but ultimately their stories will crumble. When the dust settles they will find themselves between a rock and a hard place.
