I'm in Shelby County (Birmingham, AL) - not too far from where the leak occurred. Gas prices haven't really changed (they range from $1.80-$2.00 depending on the station) and I haven't heard a thing about any places running out.

My guess is the main reason there's a shortage anywhere is because of the fear mongering that's making everyone panic and run to fill up. Gotta love the media.

Gas at the Shell down the street was $2.17 yesterday. My neighbor told me they are out of premium this morning.

Gas stations all over metro Atlanta were running out yesterday. All stations I saw were in the $2-$3 range.

People are panicking.. My fb has a pic of a neighborhood racetrak station with 9.99 a gallon!!! After Fox News inquired for gouging, they claimed they didn't have zero's
For the marquee to signal out of gas...
Asshats they just wanted to create hysteria.
What were they supposed to set it to?

If I saw $9.99/gal.. I would immediately think that station was out of gas and couldn't set the sign to blank.. At least if it's one of the automated changing signs. If it's an old manual sign, they're full of crap, they could have just taken all the numbers down.

Prices actually seem to be stabilizing here. $2.19 yesterday was going at $2.09 this morning.

Still sporadic outages, but nothing widespread.

I wasn't able to check whether the grocery stores had a run on Milk, Bread and Toilet Paper. It wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Did Fox check if the gas pumps were actually out of gas? They should have tried pumping a gallon.

Now that they have announced this on the news, everyone is going to run to the gas stations and by the end of the week nobody in these states will be able to find any gas. Good Job, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN!! I didn't even realize there was a shortage until now.

In my area in Washington state, the cheapest gas is $2.49/gal. It just went up a dime. It's been $2.39/gal for months.
