I don't see why the article has to point out there were engineering students. Doesn't really mater with the main context of the story. 5 students drown.
Does adding engineering invoke some sort of extra special status? Or to mock supposedly "smart" students from a manner of death that could have been avoided.
Very sad. I read a recent analysis of selfie accidents around the world that highlighted the high frequency of these accidents in India, and specifically ones involving drowning.

It was added because A. they were engineering students & B. they were all 3rd year engineering students at the same school. That's a pretty large number of people to die at the same time from that field of study at that university.

give it a few days, pratyusha will be investigated..
Because they were trying to save her. What's hard to understand about this story?

No, but four people suddenly forget they can't swim. If it was that easy to just do, wouldn't the first girl have figured it out? Instead four people ..... forget?? That they can't swim..
At some point, theres no possible positive outcome for running into a burning building.
They don't learn to swim, especially the upper castes whose kids are likely the ones at engineering school because the water it's seen as a lower caste thing.
Though all of your post is stupid, I wanted to highlight this specially stupid part. What does being from upper or lower caste have to do with water? Or did you just want to use the words because these drownings happened in India, and you have nothing else to add?

Do you just believe everything you are told?
Do you? People drowned, why are you getting technical about it? Just move on.
