I didn't read the article, nor do I have to. Even if I did read it I wouldn't necessarily automatically know that it's not from this story because there are other sources as well.

I think the "hail satin" and wrong symbol shows they're just doing this to be obtuse. If they were serious they'd know how to spell the name right and they'd know the correct symbol. How many middle schoolers are Satan worshippers anyway? I'd at least think kids tend to lean this way more in high school.
The Satan groups are doing this to point out the absurdity of allowing Christian groups exclusive access to proselytize in public schools. If the militant Christians want to sell their wares to young kids, all other religious groups must receive the same consideration.
So does this mean they can have Christian after school clubs now too?

There are tons of Christian clubs. I remember the joke at our high school was that for anything that existed, there was a christian club version of it.
You had athletes/sports. Then you had the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
You had the choir. Then you had the Raising Our Voices to whatever club.
You had Honors Society...and a christian version.
Blah blah blah...
I don't know what kind of weirdo you have to be to join the Satan club, but if there can be all the other clubs, there's no reason this club can't exist.
Don't people get that, when you have a rule of universal applicability, said rule must apply equally to everyone. You don't get to assess whether a purported religion is a legitimate religion (whatever that is).
Here is a picture of Abraham Lincoln. So now we can't rule out the possbility that the ghost of 'ol Abe is the faculty advisor for the Hail Satin Club.
