Sounds like an episode of C.S.I. I saw a few years ago. It's becoming more and more scary to listen to the news these days. You can be a nice person minding your own business when some azzhat decides to murder you for absolutely no reason other than you wouldn't give them $5, let them date your daughter or just because they wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone.

A cautionary tail. Be careful what and whom you invite into your family life. Why is an under aged minor participating in an adult group, especially a fetish type group...Bizarre.

Well said, short and to the point.
Being into well, animalistic sex, is one thing. Mixing out of home sex fetishes with home life has the potential to bring unbalanced people where you don't want them.
When I was in art school in the early aughts, there were a large number of furries who were taking toy design, animation, etc. Halloween meant that all of them wore their costumes around all day with less fear of "fursecution," as they called it.
I have a few friends who are into it. They're harmless, if not perhaps somewhat immature.

Obviously you don't attend comic con. It's not a fetish group and it's probably more popular amongst high school age and younger.
I don't think the furry thing has any bearing at all on whether someone is a murderer, and I think the media just wants to make the tragic events here even weirder to the general public because it sells stories.
