Couldn't the problem be solved with a simple federal law making it illegal for the same company to be in both the broadband and TV businesses? It's a monopoly, and it gives the broadband company an unfair advantage over the streaming companies.
I am in a multi-streaming, cord cut household. In the evenings, I'm usually playing a game on the computer and have something streaming in 1080P on my second monitor. Parents also have something streaming in 1080P upstairs most of the time. I have a 4K TV and Xbox One S, and all my Netflix is in 4K. I have two TVs downstairs and between them and my monitor, will often have three college football games running on Saturdays.
I have no idea how much we actually use - we're not on Comcast, but I could see us easily running over a TB/month. That's really not that much going forward.
I havent read all pages of this thread BUT don't you people know NONE OF THIS is TELEVISION?????????
television IS you put up an antenna and turn on your digital HDTV and everything is FREE,,,as in FREE.

I'd suggest next time you read the thread. There are plenty of examples of how much data is being used by what, and that there is more to watch then TV that's from what your cable provider airs, and when they want to do it. Were moving to more on-demand and being able to choose when you want to watch shows, not you better be sitting down at 8pm for an hour or your gonna miss something. Not to mention how for them this is an investment now for a lot more future fees.
No company is going to win. Lets say government forces no data caps, and they in turn jump their prices to 99 or 129 or whatever a month. Then what?
HA!
Some people wish for a price that low. I pay $87 a month, just for internet and cable that has hardly anything worthwhile. It is the most basic package you could buy.
I know people that pay upwards of $200 for their cable per month.
Internet access these days is essentially a utility and needs to be treated as such.
Just to watch tv? I don't think so.
