What I find offensive is how this picture is supposed to be an advertisement for IKEA. I'm not getting an connection at all. If they wanted to advertise their stuff, why not include a picture of the furniture with a person? And the finger just looks strange.
The picture is not an advertisment. It was apparently used as decoration in one of there room sets.
If you have never been to an Ikea before, just do an image search for Ikea showroom.
Someone who thinks just because a white kid is pretending to have a mustache, they look like Hitler is... really racist.
The offended party should have been removed, not the picture.
If a white person walked into Ikea and there was a picture of a fat black kid and he said, "Looks like Idi Amin!" this would be a totally different story.
But that's the thing. They didn't. You can make up cute "what if" stories all day long that gets you and your buddies all riled up but it doesn't matter because it didn't happen that way and no one cares. This did happen and this store decided to make a change. Their business, their money, their right. If you want to open up a store a put all the "funny" pictures of black/latino/Muslim whatever kids in it doing silly things to help you make money have at it - but making up "what if" scenarios serves no purpose except to stoke the echo-chamber of bigots and racists who feel like they are being persecuted because something they can't control happened in the free world.
The potential for certain people to be offended by others is limitless. And they think only of appeasing their own inner turmoils and show no consideration for the trouble they cause for those they target.
I doubt it was much trouble at all for Ikea to pull all existing stock off the shelves and replace the stock photo. It probably took less time and effort than writing an article about it and all the resulting commentary, when you think about it.

It's going to be fun when the PC Police come for you and the rest of the like-minded thinkers.
