An out-of-control brawl was caught on video this week at a Bronx restaurant, and calls for action were mounting Friday night in the wake of the incident.
As CBS2’s Tracee Carrasco reported, chairs flew and punches were thrown in the all-out brawl involving nearly 40 customers, which was caught on cellphone video Thursday night inside the popular Seafood City restaurant on City Island.
Marjorie Velasquez, who wants to pull the restaurant's liquor license, is completely ignorant to the problem. These massive, violent fights don't just happen where liquor is served. They are happening everywhere across America. The problem is uncivilized, uneducated people who aren't fit to dine and shop among the rest of us.
Hmmmm. If I wanted to open a restaurant or store that required all patrons to show a minimum of a high school diploma at the front door, would I be banned from doing that? Employers do that for potential employees. Why can't places of business? Doing this, IMHO, would greatly reduce the problem, thus making a safer, more pleasant dining/shopping experience for everyone else.
At this point, these types of incidents aren't "news" so much as "expectations". These things are always happening somewhere.
And there's more than enough blame to spread around. A nation that fails to educate its youth is a nation doomed to fail in time. We're only seeing the tip of this iceberg.
Don't point a finger at the black man, without pointing one at the white man too.
Don't blame the white man without blaming yourself for bringing 7 - 8 children into this world that you can't properly raise.
Don't blame the teachers, without blaming the welfare system that brought us this mess.
Don't wag that finger at the government welfare without distinguishing it from the abuse. We all know why no politician will tackle the problem of welfare abuse.
Instead of supporting the family unit, society rips at it more and more. We all know that welfare, though it had good intentions, eventually replaced the need for a working father in the home.
Wave that finger at rap music and the crotch-grabbing role models of today, as well as the filth put forth by Hollywood.
Don't blame the conservative or the liberal without blaming everybody in between.
Blame the David Dukes as well as the Sharpton's.
Blame CNN and FOX for spinning the news their way.
Don't blame the president without blaming those preventing him from fixing this messes others have left him.
I wonder what the fight was about? Probably something stupid.
It looks like a bunch of brats throwing tantrums tearing the place up and leaving it for the owner to clean up and answer to the authorities.
Could these "kids" have too much freedom? We don't see this type of nonsense in other developed countries. They certainly have no respect.

Restaurant brawls are completely unknown in the developed world outside the United States.

You are right. The ones in the brawl are the ones responsible. I hope they were drunk enough they can use that as an excuse. How would you like to say you did it sober??
