Places like Oklahoma or Texas are the last place you want to do the crime.
These things happen and the neighbors will celebrate the reduction in crime.

Neighbors had indicated an increase in breaks, People in the neighborhood had reported more break-ins in recent months. "Within the past six months we've had two or three burglaries out here," neighbor Leon Simmons told Fox 25.
Looks like the crime spree is over for these three.
I don't see where it says the intruders were armed. In some states, the homeowner would be charged, but I happen to agree with the laws in Oklahoma. Let the homeowner shoot to kill, and any surviving intruders are charged with the murder of their compadres. I love it!
Unfortunately here in Idaho, I believe (I could be wrong) that you have to retreat if possible, even if it means leaving out the back door, and if you can't retreat any further you have to be in fear of your life. You're not allowed to shoot to protect property or animal life, only human.

This is true in many states. A home invasion doesn't mean open season on the invaders, whoever they may be, especially if they're unarmed and haven't threatened anyone.
Their intent was obviously to do more than steal. This guy saved his own life, and who knows how many future victims. Their parents will now say "He was a good boy, who just got mixed up with the wrong crowd". He is the reason it was the wrong crowd.

I see the act of breaking into my home as a threat. You don't know what they're going to do. They could just rob you. Sometimes they decide to rape you while they're at it. And occasionally they murder.
The fact is, nobody knows what the intent of any intruder is. Rapists and murderers have been known to say "I'm only here to rob you" in order to gain compliance from their victim until they can get them tied up or handcuffed or controlled in some way.

And may I ask how you know that? Do you get to do a pat down first to make sure they are unarmed? I suppose being INSIDE your home doesn't count as a threat in your books. Try to explain that to your family.
