Your take on this is that the wife abused the husband for years and he finally couldn't take it anymore and killed her on the cruise?
Ok.
Maybe aliens actually murdered her.
But back to likely scenarios, people don't just wake up one day and decide to beat their spouse to death. Someone who would do this has engaged in this sort of behavior for a long time. You see this scenario again and again and again -- abuse for years and then finally murder. It happens way too frequently.
So, you're saying it's more likely that this woman was murdered by aliens, than a woman abused a man?
Dennis Long, 59, was cleared of murder and convicted of the lesser charge of manslaughter on the grounds of provocation following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
Despite hating violence, he killed 60-year-old grandmother Judith Scott, the partner he had lived with for three decades, after years of abuse which included being beaten with a poker.
On the night in March that he snapped at their home in North Shields, North Tyneside, she had called him weak, 'a pansy', 'a poof' and told him she should wear the trousers and he should be in a dress.
Now, show me those aliens so we can prosecute them.

No, but if you're going to throw around extremely unlikely scenarios with no evidence, it's not much of a stretch to say that aliens did it.
Of course it is possible for a woman to abuse a man. But there is no evidence for that here. I'd also find it unlikely. And there is no reason this man couldn't have left.

Yes, he easily could have left and probably should have left her years ago.
It's possible but again, why not seek a divorce? That would've been preferable then resorting to violence.
Couple were high school sweethearts IIRC, thus the guy got lucky once. Seeing the sort of man he has become versus the potential that was his late teens don't think lightening would strike twice. Not many attractive, successful (or on track to be so) females are looking to hook-up with a loser.
Maybe she was laughing at the size of his package
After twenty years of marriage and three kids, am pretty sure the late Mrs. Manzanares was well acquainted with what her husband had in the tackle department.
