When I was 11 they'd just put your hand in warm water to try and make you pee.

What is wrong with these girls that at age 11 they are capable of something like this?

Well, two things.

I recall a case in previous years where a relative or such objected to the gay lovers sleeping together and did the same thing to them.

Secondly, for those of us with limited internet and potential data caps when we go over, it would be very much appreciated if one would provide a summary. Clicking on a link that has auto running video is most costly.

That poor little girl. As they said in the video, this is going to be life-changing for her. I don't mind saying, I cried when I looked at the photos of her after the incident.

Also, "hot water challenge"??? Are the originators of this thing nuts or just evil? There was a note that an 8 year old girl died from drinking boiling water in another iteration of the hot water challenge. Calling it "hot water" is a bit of a misnomer; yeah, boiling water is hot, but it's more than just hot.

SMH. I just can't comprehend this. I hope the other little girl who did this can be made to understand what she did and how horrible it really is.

Truly horrific & very sad. All of the kids responsible for this should be tried as adults, and given harsh sentences. Terrible.

The 12yo who did it is charged with felony assault. I'd like to know where she learned this strategy of resorting to violence when getting back at someone for a stupid argument. Parenting fail.

At least make those heathens and their parents sit down and look at a picture of what they did to their "friend" every single morning.

Unbelievable.

I don't even know what to think about this. A 12 year old knows right from wrong and someone who is capable of this is a bad seed. This is not a "stupid" childhood prank, like putting bubblegum in someone's hair. This was a violent, vicious, and evil assault.

I don't think a 12 year old can really understand the consequences of her actions (a lot of 25 year olds can't, either, and a few 50-somethings as well). That's the whole point of having juveniles treated differently in the courts from adults.

The perp sees horrible things done on TV all the time, but actors are back unblemished in the next show. That break from reality makes it even harder to understand consequences.

I concur. This kid (and anyone who helped her) is clearly dangerous and is either just bad, or so screwed up that she should be institutionalized. It takes a while to boil water, and it's a specific process of steps. Spare me the "she's just a baby" line.

Considering burns can be life threatening traumatic injuries, maybe assault isn't a serious enough charge.
