Yes, it is! I live in the same city, and when the local news broke of this I was stunned to hear the details. So far, I haven't heard if his neighbors heard anything that night, but I'd be curious to know what they heard. I find it very hard to believe that this med could affect him this way. I wonder if he was on an antipsychotic med as well? It's very strange!! My first thought was that it was terrible idea for a cover up!

Also, his mug shot shows his face looking clean. Wouldn't he have had blood splattered on it if he'd stabbed a person? And, if he'd had slept after it, wouldn't is be smeared on his face? He mentioned he had dried blood on his body or clothes?

I think him admitting he took too much to feel good is pretty much the nail in his coffin.

I have some very weird reactions to some cold meds, even normal doses. So I don't know about the murder part, but I do know how strange the reactions can be first hand. And its wacky.

Some people have used cold medicines to get high from the drug dextromethorphan, or DXM for years. I guess anything is possible, but this is the first time I've heard of DXM being blamed for a murder.

I just hope this goody two shoes does decades in prison, if not life. If he really wants to get religion, nothing better than a long sentence, he'll have a captive audience to preach to.

Dextromethorphan (cold and flu medicine) mixed with an antidepressant can cause Serotonin Syndrome in some people. I unfortunately am one of them that found that out by accident. You might be awake for 1 week straight without sleeping and feel like you are Superman, BUT, it does NOT typically make you murderous, OR unable to remember if you slaughtered someone.

Variations of the "I blacked out and don't remember anything" is the classic excuse given by sociopathic killers.

I think this man is a killer who wanted to get rid of his wife and is using an excuse so stupid hes eligible for a Darwin award. I could believe more that he fell into a stupor and someone else snuck in and killed her before this. Don't think thats the case either. Sad his wife died like this without even being able to defend herself.

This world has too many killers, sociopaths, crazies. You don't know who will snap and attack out of the blue. Here in NYC we had two random stabbings in just a week.

Classic case of him trying to CYA. He killed her and is trying to avoid conviction/death penalty/harsh sentencing.
