Reread what I wrote: Use your phone as a hotspot. And get your wifi internet from it.
I do that with mine.
I also have a portable hotspot device so that I can connect with my computer from anywhere.

This. I have an unlimited data plan for $45/month. Cheaper than spending $2 a day on a soda at McDonalds and I can use it just about anywhere, even parts of the mountains where I hike (I sometimes use it to identify plants and such).
