...and all of those CL wh***s and scammers are already posting obscene pictures to other sites and I don't think they are too particular about what sites they post to.

Be aware and beware of what your kids are seeing.

You think that as long as Craigslist had personals, these people only posted their pictures there, and now that it's gone, they have to find other sites?

That doesn't make sense.

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!

So how are all those 22 yr old horny blonds going to finish college without the help from older married men?

Thank goodness. For as great a site as Craigslist is, the personals were just a cesspool.

Of more concern is will this be used in a different way....

Say you don't like a particular website, you make a bot-net to flood that site with just the kind of stuff that FOSTA targets and report the site for those infractions....

Only a matter of time before it happens. The sites may not Ultimately face any consequence, but if it's annoying enough that they don't want to go through the process a second time will they just sell out? Give up?

Chilling effects, all.

Really this is the same rationale as holding gun manufacturers responsible for shootings. This is a full ganor down a slippery slope.

I can't understand the nerves of steel it took to try and get a legit date off that site. And numerous people did this during the time of these ads. It was truly a place where you could meet someone , and wake up in a bathtub packed with ice missing a kidney. Or worse. Good riddance to these ads. There was never a single thing good with it, especially how traffickers used that site for their crimes.
