Sugar, not fat, is the culprit. If people actually read some studies on it, not just headlines, they'd understand that. Plenty of areas have high fat diets and little heart disease. Milkshakes are not just fatty, these milkshakes were very high in sugar as well.
Isn't this a bit like claiming water will drown us if we stick our heads into a bucket of it too many times? Therefor, water is very hazardous to humans?
No, its nothing like that. When I was researching the Atkins diet and seeing how many carbs were in certain things, I remember the milkshake really stood out, not only in number of carbs but in the number of calories. Both off the chart. As good as they taste, I don't want either. Now seeing how they clog arteries is another reason to avoid them. I like my health better then drinking these. Let the fatties gulp 'em down, I'll pass.
It's not just milkshakes. It's eating any such unhealthy foods, all day long.
Those who choose to eat anything 'all day long' reap what they sow. In reality, and Im a medical professional now x 45 yrs, unless you have a family predesposition to heart disease SUGAR is far worse and more damaging to the whole body than fat. Our brains need fat to process thoughts. Stress, and thd constant release of those hormones throughout the body will soon take over as the #1 killer. So eat/drink up...IF you so choose.
Who would drink a milkshake of ice cream, whipped cream, and whole milk anyway?
All the article is doing is reporting what researchers have found. So if you want to have cardiovascular disease, this is one way to get it. Go ahead. There is no law against these high fat milkshakes.
If you're smart, you won't eat this way. It's just an informational article to help people who do care about their health.

This is a crap study that failed to compared high fat low sugar.
Yup! The primary ingredients in those milkshakes described in the article contain way more sugar than fat. I consume one homemade milkshake every day for breakfast containing a banana, blueberries, almond milk, chia seeds, ground cinnamon, maca powder, spirulina powder, goji berry powder, grapeseed oil and coconut oil. The type of milkshake in the article is something I may splurge on once or twice a year.
