I was wondering what an EAGEL was!

All I'm going to say is, that poor animal. The loud music and crowd might have been too much for it.

Its too much for me and I am domesticated

Was it in the US? We have so many specific laws to protect eagles, I am surprised using them as a prop in a sports game would be legal.

Yes, this was in the US, The bald eagle is most likely a rehabilitated bird that could not be released back into the wild. Otherwise, I doubt MLB would hire an illegally owned eagle.

Weird. We have a lot of eagles up here and the National Eagle Center not too far away. They talk about the very strict rules (yes, only birds who cant be in the wild can be kept in captivity). I am just surprised letting one fly around a stadium is legal in the US. I have only seen them in educational environments.

It could be part of the Native American exceptions...or maybe its just legal. Seems mean to the bird.

Its mean to let a bird fly?

No, what would be mean would be keeping such a large bird caged all the time.

I'm not really sure what Native Americans have to do with this. Its a rehabilitated bird. Releasing it into the wild would lead to its death. Would you rather the bird be dead? Being able to freely fly in stadiums is enrichment for the bird. It's an eagle, its supposed to fly. There is nothing illegal about letting it fly.

Would have been good to have Rod Farve on duty at the stadium:

It's really not that unusual, and it has nothing to do with Native Americans.
