Tragedy strikes the Bush family again. I shouldn't have to say this but don't make this political.

This is not unexpected. Often, after the death of one spouse, the other follows soon after; they become dependent on one another. Hope "Pappy" Bush recovers soon...

The love of George and Barbara was real and strong. He wants to join her in eternity. It is a bittersweet story. Wishing him only the best and that, if it be his time, he be surrounded by his friends and family.

I can't even imagine what it must be like to lose someone you have loved and been married to for 73 years. Wishing Mr. Bush a quick recovery.

I was at an event 15 or so years ago where B and G Bush were supposed to come to rub shoulders with the group. G Bush showed up late and did a quick speech. He said B could come because of illness. He actually seemed in distress about her being ill and made a short speech and left, saying he needed to get back to her. I think she was in the hospital, from what I heard.

Maybe I am wrong...but I got the feeling like he was 100% devoted to her. I am a hard core dem. But I really respected him at that time.

I can only imagine his grief and loss might be playing a big part in his physical health.

Poor guy...imagine being married to someone 73 yrs and losing them. I'm sure they had thier ups and downs like all couples, but it was obvious they loved each other.

How many times over the years was G.H Bush hospitalized and his beloved Babs was always by his side... .. I'd bet it was her energy that motivated him to get better.. regardless of his disabilities... NOW that "HIS ROCK" is gone .. He may not have the WILL to remain behind! Also think that his kids KNOW it too! Don't count on his children and grandchildren to stray too far now!

Bless this family for their "Love & Devotion" to each other.. It's becoming a lost art of "Lifestyle"!! Loss of "Matriarch" and likelihood of "Patriarch" will be mourned.. but celebrated! This family will survive and live in the vision taught them throughout their lives!

Pray for G. H. W Bush.. His body is tired..and now Bab's is gone..his "Spirit" to continue is gone now! Bless his heart!!

Ummm, so very sorry to read this. You could tell he was hurting very badly at the services, he has to be devastated. Life is so very tough sometimes.

This is sadly not surprising. He hasn't been in great health for the last several years, and the loss of his wife has to have taken its toll on him.
