I agree that it's half the story.

These were his friends.

What happened? That's the rest of the story.

I know there are people who will say there's nothing anyone can ever do that deserves a violent reaction, and I disagree. There are things - not saying that's the case here.

Because we only have half the story.

And as awful as the narrative of the video sounds, he had really very minor injuries. A little bit of a bloody nose, and a small goose egg on his forehead.

He was talking about it, with no apparent injuries, within 2 days.

And although the narrative said "it sent him to the hospital", it doesn't appear he got any treatment at all. He's being charged for an ambulance ride (something insurance pays for if it's deemed necessary, usually) and a catscan that apparently didn't turn up any need for treatment.

Something's not being said here.

Going with the 2nd sentence, this is my take: the bystanders could have least said something like "Hey, that's enough! Let him go!" or talk the attackers out of continuing the assaults.

DubbleT, this story is the one that happened over 4 months ago: wmcactionnews5.com/story/37062804/collierville-student-assaulted-after-school-by-fellow-students. The assault on that teen at the church happened more recently.

I don't care what the circumstances are that surround this story, 4 kids beating on another kid is disgusting and they need to face some serious consequences. He had NO chance to defend himself against 4 of them.

They are all bullies and I agree with what the father says " they should be expelled and charged with assault"

Is that a serious question? This is half a story because we don't know what led to the beating. I doubt these guys just waltzed up to the other guy in the parking lot and started beating on him. They knew one another. Something happened that's not in the story. Background.

Nothing justifies their attack on him. There should be arrests for assault and battery.

But... I too am really curious as to WHY they attacked him. Drug deal gone bad? Theft?

This sort of thing would never have made news before advent of cell phone video.

We don't know that they didn't. The video begins after the last punch/kick is thrown.

All we know is the narrative by the son and the father, and the image of him a day and a half after the assault where he looks uninjured, although in the photos taken at the scene he has some minor surface injuries.
