What's sickening is that no one thought to intervene, just stand there and film this.

Collierville teen attacked by group of boys in church parking lot | WREG.com

Quote:
A father is outraged after his teen son was jumped by a group of boys in a church parking lot after school.

The 16-year-old was beaten so badly, he ended up at the hospital.

Even worse, the boy and his father tell WREG other kids stood around and watched the attack, recording the entire thing on their cell phones.

Obviously details are missing in the story. It was not a random attack by strangers.

Not saying anything justifies a beating like that. It's just that this is half a story. And what difference does it make if it was a church parking lot or a 7-11 parking lot? Why is that in the title as if It's relevant?

Why in the world do the police say "they are working to identify the teens" when the boy knows their identities and there they are on video?

Press charges and can they sue the families of the attackers?

We don't know the rest of the story of why they went after the kid. I hope he isn't just as vicious. If these kids are underage, sue the parents and press charges.

Right. Saying it was in a church parking lot makes it sound like it happened right after church, with witnesses who did nothing. I guess in Tennessee, adding that detail draws in more readers. Makes the incident sound more sensationalistic.

I've been saying this for years.

We suck as a society as it's all about "me".

Half of a story? How is this half of a story? He may have known them since birth, but that does not need to be part of the story.

As far as the bystanders are concerned, I am not going to criticize for not intervening. Trying to stop an attack like that may mean getting badly injured yourself. If none of them called the police, then I would call foul.

He should NOT go back to school. Those kids were attempting to inflict BRAIN DAMAGE. There may actually BE subtle brain damage.

As for the perps, their families should ALL be slapped with multi-million-Dollar lawsuits. The damage those subhumans inflicted on that kid will be both psychological and physiological, and will reveal itself over DECADES (including things like palsy, when he's much older).

You DON'T have to graduate from high school. That kid is old enough, and smart enough, to take whatever tests are necessary, and start at college.

Here, another news station is calling it a "fight". That's not a fight. It's an ATTACK.

And damage to the nose, can lead to problems later on, too. Whether or not it was broken, there may be damage which will manifest itself in later years. The families of the attackers need to be sued into oblivion. (and the attackers should be charged as adults, and do prison time)
