A chaotic scene unfolded around 9 a.m. on westbound I-70, near Holt Road, when the back security door on a Brinks truck came open.
“Bags of money were falling out of the back onto the interstate," said ISP Corporal Brock McCooe. “Sort of something out of a movie scene, where you have bills, loose bills flying all over the interstate, vehicles stopping, people getting out of their cars.”
Troopers at the scene initially said up to $600,000 had flown across the interstate, but police later said the exact amount was not known.
Troopers say people were jumping over fences from the adjacent neighborhood to stuff their pockets with money.
Police saying they do not know the exact amount is absurd, they KNOW how much was in each and every bag, down to the penny!
I would also imagine the lost money is insured, (probably the reason why they do not give a total amount)
The Police Don't know.... Brink's knows, But they will need to do a full audit of the truck, before they can Tell the police the number. That could take many hours.
All those idiots risking a permanent record just to get some quick cash. Don't they realize how many cameras are out their nowadays? They will most likely be caught.
was going to post about this too.... just to see how many larcenous hearts are around here
