He's been eating them for 46 years. That's about a little under 2 a day. Each one is 563 cal so that's 1126. If he ate little to nothing else for the day he'd have no problem keeping his weight. Besides the sodium it's not that bad. Would he be a lot healthier if those were clean calories? Definitely yes but after eating them day in and day out I think his body has gotten use to it.

If he skips fries and soda, it is not as bad as it sounds

Exactly. It's really just a regular sandwich.

I don't understand your logic--he still would have paid money for food had he eaten something else other than Big Macs.

I'm gonna get a Big Mac for lunch. And I'm not skipping the fries and soda.

He seems like a high functioning autistic individual, routine-oriented with Big Macs, and more monotone speech pattern. Interesting story.

His brand loyalty and the ensuing publicity over time has probably helped the MCD stock price.

He is a weird guy. I have probably eaten less than 5 Big Macs lifetime. The Big Mac isn't even the best burger on the McDonald's menu. The Quarter Pounder with Cheese is better. Also, it is cheaper to get 2 McDoubles/Double Cheeseburgers from the dollar menu and eat those with only 2 buns than a Big Mac. The Big Mac just isn't all that economical.
