From the linked article:
Cynthia Kissner, of Broward County, and Leonard Werner, of Miami-Dade, say they have had to pay for cheese they don't want on their Quarter Pounder sandwiches.
Have these people identified which McDonalds employee held a gun to their heads and forced them to enter the McDonalds?
Have they identified which employee "forced" them to order a quarter pounder even after the policy had been explained to them?
Have they identified what law requires a restaurant manager to micromanage every last item on the menu to the extent of calling out how a slice a cheese should be priced? Taking away even the smallest freedom he has to run his restaurant his way, with the proviso that a customer who doesn't like the way he does it, is free to go elsewhere?
The insane desire some people have for government to regulate and restrict the tiniest things in life, boggles the mind sometimes.
Sometimes I think there should be jail time for lawyers who take cases like that. The lawyer doesn't expect to go to court. He expects McDonald's to settle out of court to make it go away. Basically, it is extortion.
I think the court should rule that McDonalds has to pay the couple back the 20 cents that it costs for the cheese BUT the couple has to pay the court costs for wasting everyones time with this.
I think McDonald's needs to ban those people for life for being a pain in the butt.
There is a set menu. You are allowed to modify individual items. I have to pay $.50 extra to add a tomato and lettuce to a kid's meal hamburger and that is ok. I don't see a reason to get a refund if you take the cheese off. I assume McDonald's has a basic itemization where they order one cheese slice per quarter pounder. It was a set. You bought the set and are free to discard whatever portion you want, but it is still a set.
I hate stupid greedy people. first of all Mcdonald's isn't "forcing" them to do any thing. they c hoose to go to Mcdonalds and they choose to order what they order.
I'm not sure who is worse, the morons suing McDonalds or the lawyers representing these morons.
