People in the crowd got increasingly close to the animal, according to park officials, saying “at one point, people were closer than 15 feet from the bison.” The statement noted that people should keep a distance of roughly 75 feet at least from certain animals including bison and elk, and stay even further away from bears and wolves.
“When it crossed the boardwalk, the bison became agitated and charged the crowd, goring Hancock,” park officials said, adding that the animal left the vicinity right after.
So far this year, IIRC, the score is Animals 4, Tourists 0.
No matter what the Animal's score is, the Tourist score is always 0.
Amazingly, there are still people visiting the park(s) who believe the animals are domesticated, and can be petted.
Sorry, folks, but they are WILD animals, and you are in THEIR living room! THEY have the right of way, and you must keep your distance!

We were just there about a month ago. You would not believe the stupidity I saw. There are signs posted all over on how far to keep your distance from different animals. I saw people trying to get closer and closer for a photo. Hello! Don't you have zoom on your camera? Do you not know how to read?
There were baby bison in most of the herds. I would think that bison would be even more protective with babies in the herd.
If a wild animal gets on the boardwalk, move back and give it wide berth to pass. They really aren't coming to get petted or wanting a photo shoot with you. They are just getting from one place to another.
I have seen some really Darwin like behavior in many national parks. It makes my enjoyment less because I have to leave the area. I don't want to possibly witness bad crap happening.
Sings are posted warning people to not do certain things. So many ignore those signs. You truly cannot protect idiots.
It still surprises me a bit when I come across a story of someone so ridiculously stupid that they don't understand a massive wild animal with horns should be left alone.
How are these people able to function? Do they step out in front of moving cars too? Where does this idea that all animals are cuddly, passive friends of humans come from? Too many Disney movies?
The rules are clear people choose to not follow them then adios.
