This story keeps getting stranger. HER PHONE IS MISSING, and it appears they have been unable to find it although the boyfriend called it for a few days after she went missing and now it goes to voicemail (presumedly the battery ran out).

And they don't seem to be able to locate the area where the phone might be? I thought you could triangulate it to within a few blocks diameter. Or actually, much much closer.

it's not really news, but here is the article.

In Iowa, 48 juveniles have gone missing in July. Here's why that number may be misleading.

Which blows my mind. If my hub was missing, you're right I'm gonna remember as much as I can.

Does that mean investigators can't retrieve that message/photo from Snapchat?
Didn't know that as I don't have or use it. I have texting and FB messages, I don't understand the appeal of all these apps. Even twitter stumps me.

Let's hope LE retrieved it. I do hope they got his phone records too to at least prove his phone was 100 miles away.

The family, along with crimestoppers, is scheduled to hold a press conference at 11 am today Brooklyn time. It sounds like there won't be much new information, but will be a plea for tips.

Press conferences to be held regarding Mollie Tibbetts search

I assume there was no security camera where her BF lived. Wonder if they checked other cameras around where she was known to last be? That's the 1st thing my neighbors do when someone's car gets broken into and we've always had someone that caught a pic of the person/ people

The reports are that most people in the town don't even lock their doors, let alone have security cameras.

But its not like he knew at the time that she was going to go missing. He might have just glanced at the picture, not paying much attention to the text. I doubt the snap was anything significant.
