Wonder how much money he'll get from the lawsuit.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-...175751334.html

"Vernon Unsworth, a British cave diver who helped rescue 12 Thai children trapped in a cave in July, is suing Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk for libel and slander, according to a lawsuit filed in a U.S. district court in California.

“Elon Musk falsely accused Vern Unsworth of being guilty of heinous crimes,” Unsworth’s attorney, L. Lin Wood, said in a statement. “Musk’s influence and wealth cannot convert his lies into truth or protect him from accountability for his wrongdoing in a court of law.” Wood added that a separate lawsuit is being filed in London."

Unsworth isn't asking for a lot. Compensatory damages of $75,000, I think, and unspecified punitive damages.

Only $75,000? That's nothing to Elon Musk.

This actually is a pretty clear cut case of Defamation. Plaintiff could've very easily got a Mil, take home (let alone what the lawyers get).

At first I thought that Elon must have known something about this man. After all, Elon has plenty of dough and could easily check this guy’s background a thousand times over. The sex trade is flourishing and a lot of single men from the US and Europe go to countries like Thailand and Costa Rica for that purpose. Elon’s story didn’t seem that far fetched, it must have been a pis*ing contest these guys got into.

I thought so too, or I thought perhaps Elon checked his background and started making assumptions.

"Unsworth V. Musk" has a certain ring to it, does it not?

It sounds like the name of a men's cologne.

There's so many pervy expats running around over there it seems very plausible that one would be a pedo.

Ken White who is an attorney with a legal blog and a pod cast, sent out a new entry about the legal merits of this case...the first 3-4 comments Musk made about this guy likely fall into the free speech category that allows negative comments from one person about another....
But there are several more personal--like he married a child bride--which is a statement of fact...
Statements of fact are what will bring Musk down

There was nothing in that email about WHERE Musk might have gotten the factual statements he made about the plaintiff--because those sources themselves could indicate the viability of their legitimacy for MUSK's perception...

White was surprised that the case was filed in Federal court--
If it had been filed in the UK, Musk would be facing a much harder climb to prove his innocence...

Google Ken White Pope Hat--that is name of his website I think...
