of course he raped her. No one kidnaps a young girl, murders her parents, and keeps her captive for months without also raping her. I just assume that they’re not mentioning rape for privacy reasons since we all know her identity, but this whole crime seems sexually motivated to me. He looks like a guy who doesn’t get much female attention, but that’s no excuse to do what he did.
I heard earlier today there were two other times he prepared to kidnap her before going to the home and shooting the parents but didn't go through with it, not sure if the circumstances didn't allow it or he got scared.
I would think it would be included in the list of charges that was made public, I do not think there are any secret charges or anything like that.
there's nothing compelling the DA to announce all the charges at this time and we haven't even heard from the county DA where any molestation likely occurred (if at all). The more serious charges would be the murders and will be enough to keep Perp-boy locked up for life anyways. This won't go to a full blown trial, no way.
If I were prosecutor, I think I'd play it just this way.
Charge him with double homicide and kidnapping.
No one needs to know anything more than that.
I agree. Which would probably result in an instant guilty plea, and the case would be over, and he can go quietly and spend the rest of his life in prison. Which is where I think everybody can agree he should be. Additional charges would just be a waste of money, and would cause the victim additional undue stress.
If I'm reading these stories correctly, Jake Patterson's dad sold or gave the house back to the bank, but Jake continued to live there and the dad continued to visit him there. That sounds really odd to me, but the whole entire story has been odd.
No, the article stated AP initially reported that but it was incorrect. His father paid off the loan and then deeded the house to his sociopathic son.

Well, that I could understand and I’m sure no one wants to hear all of the horrible details. But it’s silly to think that he didn’t rape her just because he hasn’t been charged with rape. I’m sure he didn’t murder her parents, kidnap her, and keep her hidden under his bed just because he wanted someone to watch movies and play video games with.

I dunno, from the pics of Jayme smiling after her escape to the total lack of any mention of sex crimes in any online stories or charges kind of tells me he just kept her prisoner. Honestly, if a 13 year old girl had been used as a sex slave for 3 months I think she would be in a hospital situation recuperating (or not) instead of with her relatives smiling for photos.
Very weird, but it doesn't sound like his motive was sex - thankfully for this girl.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. People handle grief/shock/trauma very differently.
