We are still different from Europe, where synagogues and Jewish schools have been forced by repeated massacres to become armed fortresses. When these massacres occur in Europe, Europe largely just ignores them. Here, there has been an overwhelming outpouring of support - and this is surely evidence of it.

That headline was a really touching gesture after such a difficult week.

It's also noteworthy that despite the controversy about the paper's ownership and some of the editorial choices they've made, to see how local journalists stepped up and that a local newspaper has a role in the community.

Uh huh... keep telling yourself that.

When was the last time a synagogue or Jewish school in Europe saw as many as 11 people massacred? You'll have to go back to sometime in the 20th century to find one. In Europe. But you only have to go back nine days to find such a slaughter of Jews in the United States.

Oh, and as for your no-one-in-Europe-cares claim? Absolutely false. Let's just look at France, because they have the largest Jewish population in Europe.
