A woman died Saturday night when she fell off her boyfriend's car after he was backing up and hit the brakes.
Police said a woman in her 30's got into an argument with her boyfriend Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. on Callaghan Road and Torino Drive in the parking lot of Big John's Pizza. The boyfriend got into his car trying to drive away from her when she held on to the car.
While he was backing up, he stopped and hit the brakes, and the woman fell off the car.
The woman was taken to the hospital with head trauma in critical condition and she died at the hospital.
I'm sure we will hear about a lawsuit against the Boyfriend in the near future.
Likely could result in a charge of gross negligence manslaughter. Especially IF he hit the brakes knowing she was on the car. Who of us doesn't know that means "loose" things sitting on the car keep the original same velocity, and go flying off.
Not sure this qualifies for a Darwin. Clearly a stupid thing for the woman to do, but she wasn't driving the vehicle. She's dead and he's likely going to spend time in jail, so perhaps it's split decision on the Award. Both of them of them deserve recognition for their stupidity.
No, that statement belonged to the man near Evansville, In. quite a few years ago who tried keeping a few sheets of plywood on top of the pick up bed by laying on them going down the highway. A few of the sheets, and the man, landed in the middle of the road. Driver got charged in the man's death but don't remember the charge
Um, bear in mind this is Christmas, folks. Peace on Earth and good will toward all mankind? Let's save the gloating about a tragic accident for later, shall we?
