In MN at one of the State Hospitals there is a unit for treatment of juvenile sex offenders. They attend a required amount of school along with their treatment. And they stay a long time. I know some of them are young so I suppose they have them ranked.

They're a ragtag bunch of kids. Many of them have been sexually abused by family members and are probably relieved to be out of the home.

I have questions about what protects them from further abuse by the older and stronger ones. Or staff, for that matter. Sounds hellish to me.

And this poor girl. When I volunteered at the elder care center we had people there who were near death who were still sobbing themselves to sleep about things like this that had happened sixty-seventy years ago.

I think all of society is a victim when even one child is abused. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Yes. It's called a youth or juvenile detention center - aka 'juvie'. Same thing as prison, only for juveniles. They get continuing education in the juvie centers for as long as they are incarcerated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youth_detention_center
.

Wonder if they have to register for Megan's Law or does their age make them not allowed to?

I don’t have much hope that any “juvie” program can rehabilitate them. We had a very sad case last year where a group of teenagers drove up to a country club and shot and killed a guy who was outside with a group waiting for an Uber after a wedding reception. Turns out one if the perpetrators had been in a special program that was highly touted for getting kids “on the right track.”

Well I hope a gang of good Samaritans beat the living CRAP out of them with baseball bats in a dark alley once they get out of the detention center. And I hope they take special aim at the genitals!

That POOR poor girl. WTF is wrong with people?
