And they weren't service animals.

She was complaining to someone in a cell phone call, and one of her seat mates took offense, and asked a flight attendant to move her, while she spouted profanities.

Word is, they "escorted her off the plane." In fact, what they did was make alternate arrangements for her 4-hour flight on another plane.

People who can't handle economy class, or whatever it's called, should fly business or first class.

I don't feel sorry for any of them. They were all rude.

All were rude, but that being said, I also would have demanded another seat. I don't blame the woman one bit for that part of it.

Not really fair when you pay for a ticket and then get stuck between two people who take up more than their share of space.

I think one solution would be for airlines to make people pay double if they take up two seats. That way, they don't have to worry about their seatmate complaining. If I were spilling over into someone's seat, I'd be apologizing to them. Seats on planes are smaller than they used to be but I still think until there's a solution for that, passengers should buy two tickets if they take up two seats.

I think.. wish I could remember where ... that I read somewhere about an airline doing this and the crying and screaming from the general public caused them to reverse the policy.

If I remember correctly, that idea was brought up a few years ago by various airline companies, but they got a lot of flak.

It's reasonable to me. If a passenger needs two seats, s/he pays for two seats; few things in life are that simple.

Should be someone along soon that will make it political, and asinine since they've already accomplished the childish, ignorant act on another thread about this. Tick tock....

Since most airline seats are in sets of three, those two heavyweights could have split the cost of the middle seat. The airline should have a "girth limit". No excuses. If you weigh "XX" number of pounds you either pay for two seats, share the cost of a middle seat with another heavyweight or stay the hell off the plane.

Somebody's disgusting habit of overeating beyond commonsense doesn't trump our right to the seat/space we've paid for.
