Wasn't there an old lady that chokes a mountain lion a few months ago in the news?

I guess a couple of posters completely missed the second part of Katana49's sentence in their rush to "debate." SMH. She's right. Read it again, but this time, do it slowly enough to actually understand it.

A strong person could probably choke out a grizzly if it were under sedation but so what? What's the point of making a comment like that if you are assuming the cat isn't fighting back?

This cat must have been starved for a human to even stand a slight chance. These things have incredible strength. Given a cat the same size as a wolf the cat will win 100% of the time.

They are such a problem in AZ they all but throw cat tags out to try and keep them in check. They are protected in CA now and are becoming a real problem.

Still, that dude is badaZZ.

All states get to set there own laws, CA takes it to more the extreme than any other.

That said, no idea if this would be illegal there or not.

Cali would not hold this guy responsible for saving his own life, self defense is a universal right. Except for defending yourself from attacking cops of course.

it's doing so without sustaining a life threatening injury and dying from blood loss.
The poster is claiming that it would be difficult to choke the animal to death and NOT sustain serious injury or perhaps even be killed in the process. Before you edited your post, you gave the impression that you were thinking that the other poster was trying to claim it wouldn't be a difficult feat at all.

It was a valid enough point to make.

Well I agree with his very obvious point, that the difficulty in choking out a cougar lies in being able to do so while it's cutting you to shreds and trying to get it's mouth around your neck. Who could argue with that? I bet the guy was a bloody mess.
