A 23-year-old Missouri high school teacher has been charged with having sex with one of her students.

Sarcoxie High School teacher Baylee Turner was arrested on February 13 on a count of sexual contact with a student by a teacher, a felony.

According to court documents, both Turner and the student acknowledged that they had sexual intercourse last month inside the woman's home in Sarcoxie.
I'm sure this may be controversial to say, but should we really let anyone, male or female teach high school kids when they're barely out of HS themselves?

Age isn't the problem. If she's a pig at 23, she'll be a pig at 40.

Maybe schools should start adding a couple of lines to the job interview, "Have you seen all of the stories about teachers sleeping with their underage students? If you engage in this behavior you will be caught and arrested, made to look like a fool for the world to see, and never have gainful employment again."

Any questions?

After a college student graduates with a BA in education, how long should they have to wait before they are allowed to teach?

Yep, right on cue with the teacher/student fantasy aspect.

I am sure the teacher in question understood what would happen if she got caught. She went through 4 years of college, student loans, etc and to throw all that away a couple years into her career just boggles my mind. That being said there are 3 million teachers in the USA and I would guess the percentage of teachers who do something like this is extremely small. I think we can leave out the lecture during the job interview.
