I mentioned this in the Luke Perry thread - he actually made an appearance on BH90210 Season 5. Two of the characters, Brandon Walsh and Claire Arnold (daughter of the chancellor of the college the kids were all going to) were vying to get on College Jeopardy, and they were getting very competitive over it. They both have dream sequences where they are contestants on the show, and those were shot on the actual Jeopardy set, and Alex played himself.

Very ironic, the timing between Perry's death and Trebek's announcement, given that bit of trivia.

That's interesting trivia, thanks for sharing.

I really enjoy intellectuals, which is what he brought to our living rooms.

It strange, in that him and others I have known my entire life, I cannot even recall when I did not know of their presence.

Like when Bob stepped down from Price is Right, was thinking "really?" I grew up with him, remembering in the mornings watching as there was all of five channels available, lol, and enjoyed it anyway.

One of my first computer games as a kid in the 90s was Jeopardy. I played so much that I memorized almost all of the answers on that floppy disc.

I feel incredibly sad over this news. When I was going through chemo, I watched Jeopardy religiously to try to keep my mind sharp from the cognitive impacts of treatment and still sometimes binge on old episodes from the 80s and early 90s on YouTube to see how many of the answers have changed.

Here's a macabre coincidence. Art Fleming, Trebek's predecessor as Jeopardy host, died of the same illness just 2 weeks after being diagnosed.

Default Alex Trabek reveals he has stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Sad news.

I haven't seen Jeopardy in many years, but this is a certain death sentence.
