And therein lies the basic problem with air travel; it is perfectly safe, unless and until something goes wrong!

Flight attendants? Do you know the typical educational and work history background? Per SWA HR, "our competition is Texas Roadhouse and Chili's" (restaurants). The press release from the AFA or APFA is fear mongering as internally the union is trying to get their workers (FAs) trips dropped with pay to avoid working.

I'd like to see the FA engineering that went in to calling for the jet to be grounded. On what educational basis are they making this claim?

The pilots are the ones operating the equipment and in various press releases have stated why they remain confident in it.

They have also closed their airspace to it's arrivals.

As an aside; the Canadian Federal Transportation minister is this guy that I I would guess due to his extensive military training, later astronaut experience, along with his degree in engineering would not be given to making knee-jerk decisions:

And now Trump has grounded all MAX 8 and MAX 9 aircraft in the US. This action has been applauded by Jim Hall, a former NTSB chairman.

The vast majority of travelers and observers will applaud this decision. It's not all about you, Cappy; I'd say very, very few will care that you are grounded.
