A flight from Jeddah Saudi Arabia to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was forced to return to Jeddah after a woman told the flight crew she had forgotten her baby and "refused to continue the flight."

I've been trying to imagine a scenario where it would be possible to do this. Not having any luck.

I've read a lot of people forgetting their babies in the car, but I don't think I've ever read of someone forgetting their baby at the airport and flying off. Seriously, how does that even happen??

What is it with everyone beating up on mothers? It's the toughest job in the world, in case you hadn't heard!

I'm always leaving my baby somewhere. Gas station, beauty parlor, tanning salon, the colonoscopy suite, in the middle of the intersection of Shea and Scottsdale Rd... You guys have NO IDEA how easy they are to forget.

Much has been made of infants being left in hot cars because a parent forgot about them.

Several potential solutions have been suggested, including various devices to remind people of child in car.

I'm thinking the simplest and most effective solution is right there in everyone's hands. When driving a child in a car and sitting in a rear facing car seat, the easiest thing to do is to put your cell phone in the child seat, or somehow attach it to the child.

These days most everyone will notice not having their cell phones with them in a matter of minutes from exiting the car.

Why did the plane have to return? SURELY, they could communicate with the ground, and the baby was found and cared for.

Let her sort it out later with the authorities. Let all the passengers reach their destinations.

It's never more than 100°F in the Kingdom. It's not allowed.

My brother worked there for years. This doesn't surprise me.

its alright, the airport has a box of 'em they keep behind the desk so you can retrieve them on your return, next to the one with stray hats and mittens.

"is this the one?"

"noooo, mine is the best-looking."
