OK my qs after reading the article is HOW did they know he was doing this, how did he do it to so many and not be caught, and wtF with the circa 2000 allegations that were not pursued by the medical board?!
If it was known he was doing this on such a grand scale, how did he get away with this for decades?
He is 71. So he got to do this carte blanche pretty much all his adult life.
EDIT: sorry I said "indicted", he is in the sentencing phase.
I guess there's a fine line between an exam and a molestation. When I received a highly inappropriate exam as a teenager, no one cared, because he's a doctor he knows best, and he was prominent in the community.... therefore, just forget it. Also, he's from another culture and they do things different. ;=
Some molesting doctors become so adept they could do it while the parent or nurse was in the room, by using equipment or a gown to shield what the were doing or they would explain the need for doing what seemed to be a treatment or part of the exam. Sometimes a nurse would know something was wrong and say nothing.
Perhaps an investigation uncovered these things, that were not recognized at the time, like that gymnastics doctor giving his pelvic "treatments".
Why was a parent not there while a child was being examed? I was always in the room with my child.
Yes this. I am purely BAFFLED as to how he gained access to do this on such a large scale. They said one victim was TWO WEEKS old. So...how did they discover that?? Was the 2 week old a hospital pt maybe? But how would they find out??

Well, there's a grey line for one. School physics for example they're basically molesting you and grabbing at your nuts to check for genital hernias. Really necessary? No idea. Most people I knew did their physical at their GP. At least with mine you just brought the form in and it got signed. Sure beat having some nurse squeezing on your balls and telling you to cough.
He probably manipulated the nurses into tolerating this behavior, and covering for him.
I just got done reading about the obedience experiments done back in the 1970s, it is amazing, people are so extremely obedient, to ANYONE, who is an authority position, like a boss or doctor, etc. Even when they are asked to commit crimes, they dont think twice...they obey and comply!
Well mine is either dead or in his nineties, he really got away with it. I can only imagine how many others there were. Back then there was no recourse at all. I'm glad at least some of them are getting caught now and there is some attention brought to it.

Exactly! -- and unfortunately; Just as with Jerry Sandusky, who ruined the reputation of a great university, he will fade into obscurity, and a lot sooner.
