U.S. politicians pushing for year round daylight savings. E.U. votes to abolish daylight savings in 2021
There will be a lot of confusion with time and travelers will be experiencing serious jet lag.

I don't see jet lag being any more of a problem than it already is.

The European Parliament is proposing to end the bi-annual clock shifting.
In 2021, if itís agreed, all 28 States must decide Summer Time or Winter Time, and stick to it.
Of course, we, (U.K.) are quitting the club, so who knows how weíll end up?
No doubt the all seeing, all knowing bunch who voted for us to leave, will decide that spring forward, fall back, is best for us, well itís not for me.
Iíll make another valiant attempt to encourage my wife to let me sell our house, and buy one somewhere between Toulouse and Bordeaux, France, but sheíll use her old excuse, ďItís okay for you, but Iím too old to learn the language, so I could never go anywhere if you werenít there to speak for me.Ē

There's a trade-off. In December, in Spokane, the sun would set (2:55 pm) before elementary kids get out of school/

If we can somehow switch to year round daylight saving time at the same time the EU abolishes daylight saving time, then the time difference will be the same year round. If we continue to switch, and they don't, then the time difference will be different at different times of the year. Now that would cause confusion.

Never happen. Europe does something, an some congressman
writes a bill to do it out of synch, and it passes unanimously. You're lucky we sill decimal currency.

Makes no difference to me.

Here in South Florida there isn't a big enough swing from summer to winter sunset.

I think it gets dark right after 8PM in summer and around 5:30PM in the dead of winter.
