I find it sad that a man in a wheelchair lives in a cockroach infested home and feels the need to keep a loaded gun in his shoe.

That being said, I don't understand how, after removing his shoe, the gun didn't fall out and clatter harmlessly to the floor. It actually went flying across the room with the shoe? Where did he stash that gun, in the toe section?

As usual, too much information is missing. Unfortunately, that's journalism today.

Disabled man spots bug on the floor
So he picks up a shoe that he wore
A gun was in there
He threw from his chair
Now he's handicapped worse than before.

How do you keep a gun inside your shoe? How would your foot fit in there, with a gun in it? It says "shoe", not "boot".

He would have been better to just shoot the cockroach. I'm mildly surprised he didn't try to.

Umm, I have my doubts about this. Unless the revolvers hammer was cocked this is more than unlikely. Besides the fact you'd think he'd have noticed the shoe was a tad on the heavy side. But this is a negligent discharge excuse I haven't heard before.

Story doesn't ring true.

Guns going off from falling to the ground is actually extremely rare, more a product of Hollywood than anything else. Also, how do you pick up a shoe with a gun in it and not notice that your shoe weighs 3-4 pounds.
