My fear is next there could be outbreaks of Polio due to the fact that the disease will spring up again in the absence of people getting their kids immunized.
I have autoimmune disease. I understand more then you might think.

Just curious when did this happen? You just started posting this information, after years on vaccine threads.

Ok. If you say so. Glad to hear your kids have been vaccinated against VPDs.

My stance remains the same. No medical waiver plus refusal of required vaccines should result in no daycare, public school or brick and mortar college if required by the state. Freedom of choice, just no freedom from the consequences.

Really? Well, if you say so. As the other poster said, it's odd you didn't state this before. Just what do you do to take care of your immune system to prevent it from failing you?

Your previous posts seemed to be speaking in terms of someone who wasn't dealing with the problem herself. I'm curious as to whether or not this has ever caused you to become ill. I usually wind up in the hospital a couple of times a year just due to catching a simple cold from someone else. For me it morphs into pneumonia.

I wouldn't ask people who have a cold to stay home until it's over of course. I have to live in the world with everyone else and there's no vaccine for the common cold anyway. But if there is a preventative measure like getting a vaccine for serious contagious illnesses, then I would hope people would take advantage of them.

Yes, really! Not only do I have autoimmune disease, I also have quite a family history of it. I canít even believe that I have to defend this. Itís ridiculous and I absolutely have mentioned it before. Thanks though to you and Kat for insinuating that Iím making this up. I wish.

It’s a shame you have to be fearful due to a medical issue. I agree with vaccines being a choice. No one should be forced. I also think the choice not to vaccinate shouldn’t endanger you who has no choice. You deserve the best herd immunity those of us who can get vaccinated can provide. I truly hope we don’t lose it, but based on falling vaccination rates, I’m as fearful of that as you are.

I am not anti-vax, but it does seem there are SO MANY nowadays. I would feel uneasy too about a baby getting so many.

I'm not antivax, and I don't go around thinking up reasons not to vaccinate.

I am not challenging you, I simply did it odd you didn't choose to speak from personal experience which is always the most convincing and reliable.

Are you aware autoimmune disease usually runs in families? It's very common. I share mine with a first cousin. It's suspected other deceased family members had it too but those were the days when doctors didn't recognize or text for it. Even today, it's not the first thing they look for.

I do believe in immunizations to help prevent those diseases my immune system might not be able to handle. I had measles and chicken pox because the vaccines weren't available when I was a kid. My friends did too. They're miserable horrible diseases. Some years kids had to be guaranteed in the hospital. Some of them died or were maimed for life; many, many more children than the miniscule number that may have a reaction to the vaccines of today suffered much more greatly from the actual diseases my generation endured in the past.

I have spoken about it before when I thought it was relevant. I do know that autoimmune disease runs in families. I have it on both sides and it makes me worry about my kids because they have a high chance of getting one or more as well.

I had chicken pox as a child. To be perfectly honest, it was not a bad experience other then being very itchy.
