Oh, I'll bet Daddy beat the crap out of Deluca on a regular basis and now he's taking it out on the world at large.
I don't care if his daddy did that. That doesn't excuse his behavior. I'm tired of all the people that try to claim that people are bullies because they're bullied at home. Lots of bullies were never bullied but were just born that way and their parents didn't bother to teach them not to be a bully.

There is. Fast food attracts a rough crowd. Lots of regular characters hang out and then the added fact the employees are sadly viewed as beneath everyone else is a recipe for trouble.
I worked in a mall across from the home of the whopper. Almost everyday a fight broke out. Chairs were thrown, one person got stabbed even. Awful.

A lot of times it's the employees doing the beat-downs.
I once worked at a company that insured a bunch of McDonalds and depending where they got their workforce it could get *interesting*.
I think the recipe for trouble was that it was by the mall. Malls are magnets for trouble and while they may have strict security, feuds etc. can easily spill over into the surrounding businesses.
She was probably asking for the receipt to make sure the customer wasn't charged for two coffees.
She might want to make sure he's not getting a free refill for a cup purchased elsewhere. Which is pretty chickenpoo, but in some places rigid enfocement is store policy. I've been caught, and it makes you want to throw things.

Only if you think that what happens to be recorded on cell-phone videos (fast food places are bright and full of teens - more conducive to recordings than bars) is a representative sampling of what happens.
She didn't ask for the coffee back - she only asked to see his receipt. From the video she didn't do anything wrong at all. I hope he gets the 3 years because he apparently has a lot of anger issues --
he was expecting to be arrested for beating up someone, not for throwing coffee in a persons face.
We all know that coffee is hot...and yes, you can be, and people have been, severely burned.
This girl may well need surgery. Perhaps multiple times. Due to this violent man. Prison is the proper place to put anyone after any instance of major violence.
For a 1st degree burn??? That's like a mild sunburn. No blistering or deep skin damage.
As a former McDonald's cashier, I would confirm the order multiple times.
"I would like a Big Mac."
"A Big Mac. Would you like to make that a meal?"
"No."
"Would that be all?"
"Yes."
"I have one Big Mac, total of $1.05."
Customer hands me $10
"Ten dollars."
I hand back $8.95
"Eight dollars and ninety-five cents."
Customer now says:
"I handed you a twenty dollar bill."
Now I have to count the drawer to prove the customer wrong.
That's why when I was doing cashier work I never put their money in the drawer until after I counted out their change.
