Big flightless bird kills its owner after stumble in Florida.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/big-fligh...ble-in-florida

Although this guy was supposedly a breeder, we need more Emotional Support Animal idiots to take these birds on as their crutch.

It would really help society and improve the gene pool. LOL

I don't think he quite reaches the level of a Darwin winner, as I believe he's been dealing with these birds for many years and knew all about them.

Just an unfortunate situation where he fell and the bird's natural but deadly instinct kicked in.

I'm not surprised this bird is called the deadliest bird in the world.

I figured it was a Cassowary before I clicked the link. I watched a program years ago about them, and they said the same thing.... most dangerous bird on the planet. Evidently they knew what they were talking about.

Let me add a little reality to your hateful rant:

Quote:
The Alachua County Fire Rescue Department told the Gainesville Sun that a cassowary killed the man Friday on the property near Gainesville, likely using its long claws. The victim, whose name was not released, was apparently breeding the birds, state wildlife officials said.
Quote:
Cassowaries are not raised for food in the U.S., but are sought after by collectors of exotic birds.

I suspect you very intentionally declined to spend the 15 seconds of required googling that would have dispelled your ridiculous 'emotional support animal' drivel precisely because you did not want it dispelled.

Some people are happier believing what they want to believe than in searching for the truth.

Very scary...amazing claws or talons. Native to New Guinea and Australia...

Did you eat lead paint chips as a kid?(rhetorical question).

I specifically said the story mentioned he was a breeder of the bird and I didn't say HE had it as an ESA.

Still maintain though that there are way too many snowflakes who claim they need or get an ESA (and try to board planes, dine in restaurants, shop, etc.) under false pretenses...those are the ones that need to have a bird like this. They've made a mockery of the system and have caused doubt, dislike & problems for those who are really in need of one such as soldiers with PTSD and others.

Okay... but still, in what way is that relevant to the story?

Up until about 600 years ago New Zealand had an even scarier bird until the influx of man wiped out their main food source.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haast%27s_eagle

Quote:
Haast's eagles preyed on large, flightless bird species, including the moa, which was up to fifteen times the weight of the eagle.[10] It is estimated to have attacked at speeds up to 80 km/h (50 mph).[21]

Its size and weight indicate a bodily striking force equivalent to a concrete block falling from the top of an eight-storey building
Maori oral tradition had them killing men on occasion too, not hard to imagine when they're used to killing 400-500lb Moa.

It's not relevant at all, but the poster got an opportunity to get in their "dig" about ESAs. Whoop-dee for them.
