Last movie I went to, a child was playing on some kind of hand-held video game. Dweedle-dweedle-beep-beep-beep-dweedle-dweedle-beep-beep.....

Someone went to complain and when a manager came in and asked the mother to silence the game, she loudly exclaimed, "Would you rather have him crying???"

Uh, no, I'd rather she be out in the food court with him, that's what I'd rather....

Yes, of course I was able to tell by the context. If it were me, I would want to be aware that I were mis-using a phrase with such a connotation.

It wasn't misused. Words and phrases can have more than one meaning. Context helps you to figure out what meaning someone is using.

Speaking only for myself, I'm glad to know not to use the phrase Netflix and chill.

Just as I'm glad I know not to order the "Dirty Sanchez" breakfast taco at Torchy's. Yeah. I'm not sayin' that and glad I got the heads-up from someone more savvy.

Okay, go ahead and use it. Just remember you were warned if people start snickering.

Even if there is more than one meaning, you can't control where people's minds go when they hear it.

As I said, context matters. Obviously your server will know your not asking for them to smear feces on your face when you order a Dirty Sanchez breakfast taco.

I can't control what people think ever. If they can't take a joke, that's on them. Not something I care about.

I'm well aware of the various meanings as the slang is part of my generation. I'm also aware that people use it jokingly in different ways or to literally mean they're going to relax at home and watch Netflix.

Have you no sense of humor, Sundaydrive?

I was actually thinking about ordering that, off the menu posted above the register, but in front of me were three young men who said I really would like to order a Dirty Sanchez but I'm not going to walk up to the register and say "I want a dirty sanchez". So I quickly googled it on my phone, and no, I'm not doing that either.

Nor will I invite friends over for Netflix and Chill. ;D
