I googled Notre Dame fire and saw a video of the spire collapsing. It was sickening. There was scaffolding all around because the spire was cracked. They were trying to repair it.

You keep big cauldrons of molten bronze on the roof, you're bound to get a fire eventually. I'm surprised it took this long.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I was planning a trip to London and Paris next spring, and to be honest, the Cathedral was the main thing I wanted to see in Paris.

I'm 3 weeks out from a planned trip to Paris. It was high on my list as well.
